5Perfect for 2013 Kia Sorento LX V6 -- easy install, no splicing!
By Candid Reviewer
The Tow Ready 118541 T-One Connector Assembly plugs directly into the factory tow-ready attachments pre-mounted under my 2013 Kia Sorento LX V6 FWD. Before you buy this, make sure your Sorento has those factory attachments. Look underneath for wiring that ends in two capped plugs behind the rear, driver-side wheel. If so, this connector assembly will work great. It plugs into the factory connectors, eliminating any need to splice wires to tie into your vehicle's electrical system!

The installation instructions are a bit vague, but adequate. First, remove two screws from the driver's side tail-light and pop off the entire tail-light housing (unplug it and set it aside). Next, feed the two main wiring strands of this assembly down through the bumper. The strand with the two hard plastic connectors runs down to connect to the factory tow-ready plugs behind the driver's side rear wheel. The other strand with the flat 4-wire plug runs down along the bumper over to t he tow hitch (where it will dangle until you attach a trailer). Next, squeeze the black control box down behind the bumper/rear fascia (just under where the tail-light housing sits). This is the hardest part, but if you simply unscrew the three screws holding on the rear fascia, you can pull it back enough to squeeze the box down where it needs to go. Once in place, thru-bolt the metal tab on the box to one of the existing holes in the bumper (as specified and pictured in the instructions). Finally, re-install the tail light and then use the included nylon zip ties to tidy up any slack in the wiring along the bumper.

All required hardware is provided. You will need a Phillips screwdriver and a wire coat hanger to help you feed the wiring strands down through the bumper. Total installation took about 20 minutes. Once installed, I hooked the connector to my boat trailer for a quick test and found all functions in perfect working order (brakes, turn signals, tail lig hts, and four-way flashers). This has to be the easiest way to wire a Kia Sorento with no splicing, nor any need to remove interior paneling/trim to access the vehicle's wiring system. Highly recommended!

Please note that if your Sorento does not have the factory tow-ready attachments described above, you'll need to purchase a different kit and do some electrical splicing. Also, do not buy this kit if you need a round trailer wiring connector. This kit is to install a standard 4-wire flat plug type of connector. Together with the Reese Towpower 44639 Class III/IV hitch and a drawbar, this wiring assembly is all you need to make your 2013 Kia Sorento LX V6 ready for towing. Highly recommended.
