Perfect hitch for simple installation

After searching the web for a Class I trailer hitch for my 2005 Toyota Camry, I bought this Reese Towpower receiver hitch. Lowering the exhaust isn't necessary; you only need to remove the frame-side exhaust hanger. Slip the upper support bar over the tailpipe and insert the included bolts into the existing driver's side threaded frame holes first (do not tighten yet). Align the passenger side hitch with the frame holes the hanger was bolted to. Insert the provided bolts (not the original bolts!) through the exhaust hanger first, then through the hitch holes into the frame. Torque the bolts as instructed and you're finished in less than 15 minutes. NO DRILLING! Even though the manufacturer and many other retailer websites say this Reese hitch will only fit Camry models up to 2004, but not the 2005 model are wrong! The Reese Towpower Class I model 77035 fits perfectly.

Solid and easy to install

Perfect for towing my son's fishing boat now that I'm retired! My Camry is a 2001 so I didn't need to mess with the exhaust pipe or hanger - just worked around it in place. The unit is well documented with exploded views for installation. The mounting holes in the Camry frame line-up great. The instructions say " if exhaust bridge interferes with lower corner of vehicle end panel, fold end panel up to clear". I didn't know what that meant. Now I do. Underneath the vehicle where two sheet-metal panels overlap, I had to remove a 3/4" strip about 10" long for clearance. "Folding up" this strip was difficult to do so I used a Dremel Tool to cut if off. This material is excess material after the two sheet metal panels are riveted/welded together, so no harm whatsoever. This hitch is rock solid and mates to the trailer perfectly. Gotta go... I hear the fish are biting up north...

good buy

I'm pleased with this purchase. The hitch was easy enough to install in my 99 Camry and Midas only charged about 40 bucks to install it. I've used it to tow a small boat trailer without a problem. I think it is a good price and seems to be holding up well with only small bits of rusting to be seen.
