Does not prevent theft....

I thought this was a keyed locking hitch pin. I was wrong. I read the words "locking" and assumed the sleeve (shown in the picture) was some sort of hex key or something. Upon receiving the item I realized my mistake. The sleeve enlarges the pin from 1/2" to 5/8" to fit in almost any class receiver (I can't vouch for a class V receiver but definitely up to a class IV)

That being said, the quality and construction of this pin is very rugged and it does exactly what it says it will do (minus the locking bit that I misinterpreted)and I have no doubt that whatever I might have in tow would still be there no matter how long the trip. (Unless I stopped for fuel and someone simply removed the hitch because it wouldn't lock with a key).

Unfortunately, I am returning it back to Amazon to purchase one with an actual lock, but I will definitely be looking at the Master Lock hitch pins again.

Great Sensible Hitch Pin

This hitch pin is wonderful . You don't have to fumble with a separate clip to lock in your hitch pin. Just pull out the end and swing it out 90 degrees to lock in the hitch pin. The sleeve makes it useful for 5/8" hitch pins. Use a little hot glue (or other glue) to secure the sleeve in place if you have a 5/8" requirement. You will love the convienence of this hitch pin.

Exactly as described and good quality item

I recently purchased a dual-hitch receiver so that we could have both a cargo rack and a bike rack on our Honda Pilot. This results in (3) hitch connections so I needed one more pin/lock. The other two I use are keyed locks, but I wanted a versatile quick lock too. This one is of good quality and allows for very fast connect/disconnect.
