1A great idea gone wrong....
By A. Mandeville
So to begin I have to say I am really disappointed...I got the Cordzilla in and opened the box like a kid at Christmas. The Cordzilla on the surface looks tough ...inviting you to pull and strech and tie things down....so I did.

First thing I found was it was weak...it tested initial stretch at 3#'s and full stretch at 25#'s. Not good for a product rated for heavy loads...they would be prone to move to much. So I took a look at the poly rope around the bungee itself and was reminded why I don't ever use poly rope. It is the type of rope you see boaters use a lot as it is not prone to rot like cotton does. Problem is it is very abrasive, not a good choice for a tie down product were vibration, wind from the car/trucks movement, and load shifting can cause problems.

Second issue is made more important by the poly rope wrap...it only has one foam protector so as you stretch over something you have to pick which side to protect.

Third iss ue a closer inspection of the bungee...(made by cutting open the rope around it revealed that the Codzilla was just a regular bungee in a spruced up wrapper. See uploaded photo for a better look inside)

Bottom line: At nearly $35 this is not even worth a look....the clips are great and then it goes down hill from there

-1 star for only one foam protector
-1 star for poor pull stength
-1 star for abrasive poly wrap rope
-1 star for price

4Good As a Supplimental Roof Tie-Down, Good For Securing Things In a Pickup Bed
By Adam F. Jewell
The Cordzilla stretch rope is great for keeping things in the back of your pickup and could easily be used in place of a regular bungee cord or rope to keep things secure in the back of the truck. While there are vinyl coated hooks on either end of the cord, I wouldn't go so far as to say they "protect paint". The vinyl coating isn't that thick and the part of the hook that closes is not coated with anything to keep it from scratching paint. If you are going to hook it onto something, hook it onto something that is either not visible or can be scratched.

It is great for helping to secure things on the top of a car but not securing them but itself. For example, when I put a small sailboat or windsurfer on top of my car, I use the wide flat things that ratchet down to keep it secure on top of the car. This item could be used for extra security to help ensure nothing came off the car.

You could also use this to keep things like ski bags together on the roof of your car. If you have skis in ski bags that won't fit in the car and use bungees or something similar to strap them to the roof, the Cordzilla would be handy to have to wrap around all the ski bags to keep them together on the roof.

This cord also makes an excellent workout accessory in the office or on the road away from the gym. It is easy to grip, provides a lot of resistance and provides the biceps a good workout just stretching the cord while sitting in your cubicle.

Overall, it is a significant improvement over a regular bungee cord. It is stronger than many bungee cords, the hooks make it easier to attach it to more things, it is great to use in the back of a pickup truck and you can use it as an exercise accessory. Just be careful what you attach the hooks to because I can't imagine that the paint on my vehicle would still be in tact if the hooks on this cord were attached in such a way such that they were in contact with the pa int and under any kind of stress.

4Useful, extra heavy-duty tie-down bungee cord.
By D. Chou
The Cordzilla Stretch Rope is bungee cord reinforced with an outer rope covering. It stretches from 3' to 5' and is easily secured with 2 vinyl coated steel hooks with AL safety clips. I've already used it as an extra anchor for tying down stuff on my crossover SUV's roof rack and inside my truck-bed. There's even a protective foam sleeve to protect edges of items. It works much easier than rope and feels more secure than regular, thin bungees. Slight dislike: the gaudy green color (black or red would be better).
